Would you like to be more involved in the school? We are always in need of volunteers at our various events.
Market Day - (click to go to the Market Day page) Duration: Once a month for 10 months. Market Day orders are delivered to our school's Science Room at 1:30pm. The food items are first sorted into categories. Checklists are used to confirm the correct number of items. Items are then sorted according to the customers order. By 2:30pm, customers come to pick up their order. You can see the Market Day schedule here. If you are interested in helping out, please email us at bfgibbspto@gmail.com so we can email you a reminder the day before the order is delivered.
Library Volunteers - (click to go to the Library Volunteer Form) Duration: Once a week for eight weeks Shelving the books that the children at Gibbs have borrowed and returned in the Media Center. Tuesdays or Fridays between 12 and 3pm.
Date: Oct. 8th & 9th Help will be needed in assisting children to select age appropriate books with the funds they bring to the book fair. A class schedule will be going home to the families that will show when your child's class is going to visit the book fair. You can come to help out just his/her class or you can stay as long as you can to help with other classes.
Halloween Spooktacular Date: Oct. 29th, 6pm, Oct. 30th, 2:30pm and 7-9pm. We will need people to help decorating our gym for the event. Help will also be needed to run games. Donations of baked goods will also be appreciated.
Holiday Shop Date: Dec. 4th and 5th Help will be needed in assisting children to select gifts for their loved ones with the funds they bring to the Holiday Shop. A class schedule will be going home to the families that will show when your child's class is going to visit the shop. You can come to help out just his/her class or you can stay as long as you can to help with other classes.
Book Swap Date: Feb. 12th Children will be bringing book vouchers that allows them to select up to 5 free books to bring back home with them. Help will be needed to sort out books prior to the swap and assistance will be needed to help children find and select books.
Adult Night Date: Mar. 5th We will need help with wrapping prize baskets.
Eating of the Greens Date: Mar. 16th, 1:00pm - 3:10pm Green fruits and vegetables will be delivered to Gibbs. We will need help sorting the produce and bagging them to hand out to class parents.
Earth Day Fair Date: Apr. 22nd evening Help will be needed to set up for the fair. Grownups will be needed to run the craft tables as well.
Mother’s Day Plant Sale Date: May 7th Help will be needed in assisting children to select flowers for their loved ones with the funds they bring to the plant sale. A class schedule will be going home to the families that will show when your child's class is going to visit the plant sale. You can come to help out just his/her class or you can stay as long as you can to help with other classes.
Art Fair Ice Cream Social Date: May 27th This year, Gibbs will be the host to the Gibbs-Berkley Art Show. Families will be coming to Gibbs on the evening of May 27th to view the artwork of the children of Gibbs and Berkley. Ice Cream will be served in the Gym. Help will be needed to serve the ice cream.
Field Day/Gibbs Day Date: May 21st, raindate May 25th Volunteers will be needed to help Mr. Mongiardo and Mrs. Backo with running the various sports activities around the school. Help will be needed for serving food to the children after the activities. As these events approach, we will reach out to you via a volunteer form. If you are able to help out, we would really appreciate the extra hands! Or, you can also help by volunteering your skills be it a special cookie recipe, wrapping baskets for our Adult Night fundraiser to using your artistic abilities to make posters for our events.
